A strong driving force for learning more about the letters is to find out whether there are any living relatives from my grand father’s branch of my family. To date, since my father is an only child there are no other living relatives that I am in touch with. Therefore when I heard that Ernest Fleischmann has three children, I was quite excited.
It turns out that Ernest was a famous Symphony Director. Quite a controversial figure but nevertheless seems to have made a meaningful contribution to world of music.

Alexander Samuel Schwab (9) Rudolph Schwab’s great grand father gave birth to Gotha who married Mayer Fleischmann. Gotha and Mayer gave birth to Gustav Fleischmann who gave birth to Ernst and Kurt Fleischmann. They came to Cape Town near the time Rudolph did and Rudolph worked for them for a while before moving to Johannesburg.
